Blazers and Sport Coats: What's the Difference?
Here's how Kempt breaks it down:
Blazers:
usually have patch pockets
often come in blue or black, and are almost always in solid colors
frequently have gold or silver brass buttons
are derived from boating clubs
Sport Coats:
usually have flap pockets, and often a ticket pocket (that small third pocket on the outside of the coat)
come in patterns and textures
are typically a little less structured
are derived from sporting pursuits
So, of the images up top, the first and third are sport coats, while the second and fourth are blazers.
