The Guilt-Free Way to Get Your Girl Scout Cookie Fix

Forget the showers and flowers for a secondthis is Girl Scout cookie season, people. Those bright blue, purple, green, and red boxes are making the roundsincluding our office!and were collectively making room for Samoas and Peanut Butter Patties in our cabinets (and stomachs). The folks at Greenblender know how addictive those cookies can be, and devised some healthy smoothie recipes that substitute superfoods for some of that sugar. They shared their rendition of the Thin Mint, which is rich in antioxidants, hydrating, and tastes almost as sweet as the real thing:

Ingredients

2 handfuls spinach

1 banana

1 apple

3-5 sprigs fresh mint - stemmed

1 tbsp cacao powder

1 tsp cacao nibs

1 cup water

1 cup ice

Blend everything except the cacao nibs for 1-3 minutes. Add in the cacao nibs and blend an additional 10-30 seconds, so the nibs are still slightly intact and the smoothie is a little crunchy. Top with a few nibs and a sprig of mint.
