How to Apply Lip Liner for Beginners
Though it may sometimes seem like an unnecessary extra step, lip liner is actually a useful, multipurpose tool to use in your everyday makeup routine: Not only can it shape and define your lips, it can also prevent your favorite lip color from featuring or fading. In this video, makeup artist Nam Vo teaches you how to line your lips using ModelCo recently sampled Lip Enhancer Illusion Lip Liner. Watch her technique, then follow along using the steps below.
How to Apply Lip Liner
1. Smile! This will stretch out your lips and help you to create an even line. Start by lining your bottom lip along your natural lip line. (If your hand is shaky, anchor it by resting your arm on a table and holding your chin in your hand.)
2. Next, outline your cupid's bow with a tiny "V" shape, then continue to line the corners.
3. If you want to make sure your lip color is going to last all day, go ahead and fill in the rest of your lips with the liner, making sure to prep your lips with balm if they're dry.
4. Finish with your favorite gloss or lipstick.
