Finally, a Flow Chart to Help Determine If You Really Need That Meeting
On a mission to maximize productivity and reclaim a few precious minutes of the day, author and time coach Elizabeth Grace Saunders created a flow chart for assessing whether a meeting is actually necessaryand if not, what steps should be taken instead.
The startlingly simple chart can be navigated in moments, and could potentially tack hours onto our days. It forces us to ask the questions we often neglect in a flurry of task management, when putting something on the calendar feels like the easiest solution.
By encouraging us to think an idea through and do some work before setting a meeting, Saunders illuminates a surprising irony: Meetings can actually be a veiled method of procrastination. Yikes.
Let the calendar clearing commence.
